About the Department
The Chair of Old and New Testament studies of the Faculty of Reformed Theology of Selye János University is responsible for biblical studies. In distinction but in cooperation, subjects of the Old and New Testament studies are dealt with by it. Biblical languages and biblical studies are being taught in both Testaments within the framework of the BA and MA programmes of the Reformed theology, of the Teacher training programmes BA and MA, as well as in the BA and MA programmes of Missiology, Diaconics and Social work.

Alongside with teaching the chair endeavours to do researches and to publish their results, to organise conferences and to maintain international and inter-university relations. The main fields of research are linguistic, historical, hermeneutical and religious history studies. The chair co-operates regularly with the Josephus Research Institute of Selye János University.
